| On Tuesday, October 10, 2006 ACVFD took part in a fire prevention and safety day at Westmoreland Mall. In attendance was fire apparatus from Hempfield Township and surrounding communities. ACVFD took there entire fleet to this event. ACVFD also used the Fire Safety Trailer to educate the public on what steps are to be taken when there is a fire in your home. |
Fire Safety at West Hempfield Presbyterian Church |
| On Tuesday, October 3, 2006 a fire safety presentation was given to the preschool at the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church. Holstien presented his fire safety class to the boys and girls, and an introduction to firefighters and there equipment was given. In this class the children learned to GET OUT and STAY OUT, STOP, DROP, and Roll, and other important fire safety tips. |
Assisted Living Facility Training at Stone Brook Manor |
| On Wednesday, October 4, 2006 the Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department Fire Prevention Team held an educational class for the staff at Stone Brook Manor Personal Care Home. This class reinforced the steps to take in case of an emergency at their extended living facility and reviewed fire extinguisher usage. |
ParentWise Safety Day 2006 |
| On Tuesday, October 3, 2006 the Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department Fire Prevention Team visited the West Hempfield Presbyterian Church to teach preschoolers about fire safety. Holstien taught the kids utilizing his fire safety class, and a demonstration on what to do incase of a fire was taught. |

September 16, 2006 - The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department participated in the ParentWise safety day held at WCCC. The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department operated the current fire safety trailer and distributed fire prevention material to parents and children that attended this event. The Adamsburg and Community Fire Department also donated 2nd Story Escape Ladders ParentWise to distribute to families in need.

June 3, 2006 - The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department participated in 39th District Senator Bob Regola's Kids Rock Expo. At this event the Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department operated the current fire safety trailer for children to learn escape routes from their residence. We also distributed fire safety material to children in attendance. At this event distributed were smoke detectors, 2nd story escape ladders, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers.

Fire Prevention and Safety Grant |
2005 - The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department has submitted a grant proposal to the Department of Home Land Security for the purchase of a Fire Prevention/Safety/Sprinkler trailer for use with their fire prevention program. |

Fire Prevention / Safety Class - Westmoreland County Personal Care Home Group |
2005 - The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department educated the Westmoreland County Personal Care Home Group on the importance of Fire Prevention / Safety in there establishments. Education for this class was based on curriculum from the Assisted Living Emergency Plan of Action Guide.

October 2005 - The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department educated the West Hempfield Elementary School student body in the importance of fire safety / prevention, This program included Holstien's Fire Safety class for the Kindergarten through third grade students, and a Fire Prevention / Safety competition for the fourth and fifth graders.

October 2005 - The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department participated in the Fire Safety / Prevention Demonstration Night at Westmoreland Mall. Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department firefighters set up a display for Rope Rescue Techniques, Displayed Fire Prevention Videos, and distributed Fire Prevention material and handouts.
