Holstien is a Harlequin Great Dane that was born on September 12, 2000.  Holstien has been a member of the Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department since 2002 and assists Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department with fire prevention programs and public relations.  He is a vital asset to Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department and gets children and adults of all ages involved in fire prevention and fire safety awareness. 

Holstien is a survivor of a fire that consumed his own house and took the life of his sister Great Dane in 2002.  He was trapped inside his house and the firefighters had to save and resuscitate him.  Without the courage and bravery of firefighters he would not be here today. 

This tragic event has made it even more important for him to educate people in what to do if there is a fire, and how important it is to get out and stay out.  Holstien enjoys riding the fire trucks and meeting new people everywhere he goes.  As long as he can Holstien will be assisting the ACVFD in fire prevention programs in the future.
